OVERVIEW:
Peking rugs are some of the most well known rugs that came out of China around the turn of the century. What we would classify as ‘Peking’ rugs are typically from the last quarter of the 19th C. into the early 20th C. Peking rugs are typically distinguished by their gold and royal blue color palettes and use of Chinese iconography; dragons, lotus flowers and Buddhist symbols come to mind as common motifs found on these rugs.

CONDITION:
Some minor wear associated with age, several small stains, the most egregious being a green stain (pictured), other small areas of discoloration and exposed foundation as seen in overhead photos
